ROSEMARY & CO is a family run business in England that makes fantastic travel brushes and other brushes for watercolor artists.
The reversible handle allows for a convenient storage and prevents damage to the brush.
A dream for urban sketchers, and a Plein Air must-have.
Rosemary’s reversible watercolor brushes come in sleek shiny metal bodies.
It’s a lightweight brush. Da Vinci and Escoda’s offerings that feel more substantial.
Compared to a traditional wooden pencil, the brush’s body is slightly thicker, height slightly longer because of the hair, and weighs slightly heavier.
The brush comes in two parts, the top half with the hair and the bottom half that also doubles up as a cap.
The cap has a small ventilation hole which you may hear other artists say help with air ventilation, but in actual fact is not that useful (same for other brands), so if you need to dry your brush, you should still dry them without the cap.
This brush is designed for use with watercolor, gouache, acrylic and oils.
HOW TO CLEAN THE BRUSH
WATER BRUSH
Cleaning watercolor brushes is easy! Grab your brushes and head to the sink. You can hold them under the tap and let the pigment wash off them with the flow of the water. Get yourself a bar of soap and use the palm of your hand to gently wipe the brushes back and forth to ensure they are clean throughout.
Acrylic Brush
Ensure to clean the Acrylic brushes in-between each use. Grab a rag or kitchen towel and wipe away any excess paint from your brush to begin with; this will make the washing process faster and easier. Thoroughly rinse the brush with water and wipe the brush in your palm to get the paint out. You can use soap to speed this process and condition your brushes.
